Notice to Alternative Fuels Licensed Companies and Certified Individuals

State of Disaster in Texas Waiver Requests

March 24, 2020

On March 13, Governor Greg Abbott declared a State of Disaster in Texas for all Texas counties in response to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. During the State of Disaster, licensed companies and certified individuals for the safe transportation, storage, distribution and use of alternative fuels, including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG and propane) compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG), may request a waiver for certain regulatory requirements from the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC). The wavier requests may be for companies operating with an expired license, which was due for renewal in February or March, or individuals who have passed an alternative fuels safety exam but have not received their certification card. The waiver requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

Please email waiver requests to April Richardson, Alternative Fuels Department Director, via email at April.Richardson@rrc.texas.gov.
