Energy Awareness Month

K-12 Student & Teacher Resources

October is Energy Awareness Month. This observance is a national effort to highlight how central energy is to our nation’s prosperity, security, and environmental well-being.

In 1991, President George H. W. Bush started the observance of “National Energy Awareness Month”. Through this campaign, he encouraged state and local governments, organizations, and agencies to maximize efforts in managing the nation’s energy resources to increase sustainability.
