RRC Announces Update to Completions Query
Effective April 26, 2018, operators and the public can search for completion packets using several new search parameters on the Completions Query. The new search parameters can be used to identify horizontal well completion packets classified as stacked lateral, production sharing agreement, or allocation.
In addition, two new columns called Stacked Lateral (SL) Parent/Child Well and SL Parent Well DP No. are displayed on the search results screen. For a horizontal well classified as stacked lateral, the SL Parent Well DP No. column displays the drilling permit number of the record well, also known as the parent well. The column is sortable, allowing all the stacked lateral wells with the same parent well to be displayed together. The Stacked Lateral (SL) Parent/Child Well column indicates that the well is a stacked lateral child well.
The Completions Query screen is available through the Online Research Queries on the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC) website at http://www.rrc.texas.gov/about-us/resource-center/research/online-research-queries/. The new search parameters are also available on the Completions Query screen used by oil and gas operators logged into the RRC Online System.
